Random memory from SJU around this time was a file sharing system on the school network called DC++ I believe. Napster/Limewire with instant downloads basically. I started in 2003 and I think it existed before then. A lot of music and video was shared between network users and there was adult stuff in that. I’m wondering if there is any way to trace back use of that to see if there was interactions between users potentially.

I was also a student during this timeframe and while I don't remember DirectConnect, I do remember some campus-wide file shareing (I think it was an SJU sanctioned sharing network) where a lot of students passed music/mp3s around. When I heard that music had been accessed on Josh's computer I wondered whether it could have been remote to download the file rather than directly playing it on his computer. I don't have enough background to know what that would look like in the records on the computer, but it struck me as a possibility.
