Our office is so noisy, thinking about sound masking - worth the investment?
Guys, help! Our office is SO loud. We've got an open floor plan, and it's just constant noise – phones ringing, people chatting, keyboards clicking. It's impossible to concentrate! I'm thinking of suggesting sound masking to the boss, but I want to know if it's actually effective before I stick my neck out. Has anyone actually implemented sound masking in their office, and did it make a noticeable difference? Is it worth the money, or are there better alternatives?

It's a common problem these days. I've been researching office sound masking systems for our own office, and I've learned that they're designed to enhance speech privacy systems, making conversations less intelligible and less distracting. It works by introducing a background sound that covers the frequencies of human speech. The key is a professionally installed system that’s tailored to your office’s acoustics; otherwise, you might not see much benefit.
