Another point is Josh's car keys were found in his dorm room after his disappearance. This could back the theory that Josh left the poker party unannounced just 30 minutes after arriving and didn't tell the two friends that came with him because he wanted to meet someone discreetly, he didn't want his friends to offer to leave with him.
Whomever he was meeting might most likely lived off campus, since there wouldn't be privacy meeting someone living in a dorm. Or someone on campus with their own vehicle where they could go somewherewith privacy, someoneJosh felt comfortable to get into their vehicle.
Josh knew he was going to a party ( unsure what day he was invited) and he would be drinking, explains why if he had a set meeting time with someone, why he didn't have his car keys with or his wallet with him when he disappeared, he would be too intoxicated to drive his own car.
Therefore, Josh most likely set up for his pickup after he was invited to the poker party. Nick said that Josh told him he was invited to the party that night sometime during the day on November 9th.
Josh didn't have a cellphone, he deleted his Yahoo profile and software on October 28th, 10 days before he disappeared. Most likely Josh made the pickup arrangements in person, or used the Universities library computers, or paid telephone shortly after the poker game invite to tell the person come and pick me up at midnight, I won't be able to drive after the party.
